I’ve been selected for a residency at EKWC, European Ceramic Art Center in Ooisterwijk at the end of 2018/beginning of 2019. Here I will work for three months on a project with the work title ‘Shards’. More info to follow.
In four consecutive duo exhibitions from March to May, Guy Vording, Ilona Plaum, Sara Bjarland, Annesas Appel and Maze de Boer show new works. In these duo exhibitions which take the format of a relay (where one artist is coupled with a different artist twice), the idea of collecting, rearranging, ranking and stillness are central. The artists touch upon one or more of the themes, and where some collect abandoned objects from the street or specific magazines, others investigate repetitions, colors, depth and space according to certain systems.
